FESTIVAL SCHEDULE

The "Contrometraggi" projects will take place in Terni at Palazzo Gazzoli's blue room, on 'Teatro Romano' street. The place is located within Terni Municipality ZTL (limited traffic zone).

"Contrometraggi" is an uncompetitive and open shortmovie festival.

"In...Contro" is a brief meeting/debate between shortmovie-lovers, from they who work on them to they who enjoy them, passing on they who take part in the making of shorts exclusively for passion.

REGULATION

We opened the registration to "Contrometraggi 8th edition". The short movies will be accepted up to 12/31/2009 (postalmark will testify), but the works which will arrive later than January 9, 2010 will be excluded.

1. The Cultural Voluntary Association "Contromano" (the wrong way), is going to organize the 8th edition of the uncompetitive shortmovies festival "CONTROMETRAGGI", in order to promote the shortmovie as an artistic form, allowing to every participant to have equal screening opportunity without any distinction between professional and amateur works. The screening will occur at Palazzo Gazzoli in Terni on the following dates:
   • Friday, february 5th 2010
   • Saturday, february 6th 2010
   • Friday, february 12th 2010
   • Saturday, february 13th 2010
2. The festival's wide open to everyone and taking part is utterly free.
3. It'll be granted the screening of only one work per author, if the time allows it. The time available is 8 hours of screening. In case that the sum of durations will excess the 8 hours, the first arrived shorts will be screened, and in case of equality, the shorts sent first. Issue #11 of this regulation is an exception.
4. Every work must be 20 minutes long at the most, including credits. The duration will be counted calculating the duration of the dvd tracks; eventual presentations, shots or something will be count as part of the short. The DVDs with more than a short must be provided with a menu in order to select easily the short to be screened.
5. Shortmovie theme and argument are entirely unbound. Ad shorts, videoclips and personal videos will be excluded (for the videoclips it makes an exception the issue #11 of this regulation). The shorts with dialogues and captions (fundamental for understanding them) not in Italian will be accepted only if subtitled in Italian.
6. Association reserves the right to don't screen the shorts containing pictures, sounds and all that stuff in blatant conflict with the public ethics and decency.
7. Every author takes on full responsibility of the contents of their sent works, relieving the Association of any responsibility about the contents themselves.
8. A shortmovie, already sent to previous editions of "CONTROMETRAGGI", cannot be screened again. But the association reserves the right to admit the shorts unincluded on the schedule of the previous editions or the shorts never screened or screened badly for technical problems.
9. The shorts must come on DVD, in DVD-Video format (no other formats will be accepted).
10. Each short must be OBLIGATORILY followed by a signed presentation dossier; it's downloadable on the Association website. You can also send a custom form but it must contain at least the following information: author's data (full name, complete address, phone number and/or email - one of the two in compulsory, both are recommended) and short movie data (title, year, duration, director, plus a brief synopsis), other than the compulsory signature. Then is necessary to add a liberatory for using the works and an other one of the personal data treatment, and they should have the same text of the presentation. Optionally you may add more infos. Anyway, we recommend you to use the form available at the bottom of this page in order to avoid any issues.
11. Departing from issue #3, to the membership of the association it’s always guaranteed the vision of a short in which they held noteworthy roles in the production stage (direction, story and screenplay, acting, cutting... and so on). Departing from issue #5, videoclips in which one or more member of the association held noteworthy roles in the production stage are admitted, as long as the videoclip itself is no more than 10 minutes long (the screening time is calculated on the specified modality of issue #4). Anyway, the membership must respect the festival rules, always observing the other regulation issues.
12. The works sent won't be taken back but rather they'll join the associational file concerning the festival itself. Association Contromano reserves the right to use these works, without any profit, to screen 'em in the occasion of uncompetitive festivals, cultural events, TV broadcasting, and what have you, in which Association is organizer and helpmate, always giving the authors preventive information.
13. The works and the paperworks must come by and no later than 12/31/2009 (postalmark will testify, but the works which will arrive later than January 9, 2010 will be excluded).
14. The shorts excluded for violating the regulation will be screened only on Associazione Contromano discretion and if time allows it.
15. Association isn’t answerable for thefts, mislayings or damagings of the works sent.
16. Over the nights little presents will be given only to the authors or delegates attending in the auditorium in remembrance of the festival. The participants living outside Terni county which want to attend the festival will be given a coupon/refund of 25 euros a day by Associazione Contromano. It can be spent as an overnight stay for maximum 2 consecutive nights on the festival dates, and only for a person per shortmovie. To whom may be interested in this offer, they must show up at the end of the evening on Palazzo Gazzoli’s blue room and ask for the coupon/refund, showing a proof of presence released by the accommodating facility in which he/she spend the nights (this facility must be located on Terni municipality). To be entitled to the coupon you must be either the author or a person who held noteworthy roles in the production stage.
17. The author agrees to a full use of his work for the festival "Contrometraggi" (screening, filing, tv broadcasting, posting on websites and papers, using it in next festivals without any profit and respecting tax, civil and penal rules, which complying them is up to the author. He/she also agrees to a full use of the music scores present in his own work. Joining it entails the right to treat personal information by the Association according to the current regulations.
18. Joining the festival involves the utter and clean acceptance of this regulation in all his items, and the misabidance of the same implies an instant exclusion from the festival.
